Crispin Acton, Neil Hepworth and Scott Wilding are your Liberal Democrat candidates in Wanstead Village on May 5th.
Read on to find out why they can provide a strong voice for Wanstead.
Neil Hepworth has lived in Wanstead for over 20 years, raised his children here and enjoyed the many facilities that it has to offer. His children went to local schools, he is a regular user of the leisure centre and can often be seen walking on the Green and in the Park.
“I would protect what is great about Wanstead and steer improvement where needed. I am a strong believer in fair play and accountability: values that will serve me well as your Lib Dem councillor.
Crispin Acton moved to Wanstead in 1996. After a career at the Department of Health, Crispin pursued his long-held interest in public health, gaining an MSc in in 2019. He is a committed campaigner on a range of public health issues, including alcohol misuse. He worships regularly at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Wanstead.
“I was part of a residents’ group that fought for two years to get traffic calming in Wellington Road, where I live. Although we succeeded in the end, it took the council far too long to take us seriously. This is part of a wider pattern. As your councillor, I will fight for a council that really listens."
Scott Wilding grew up in Wanstead, attending both Wanstead Church School and Wanstead High School. A local campaigner for almost two decades, Scott has been Chair of the Wanstead Society since 2010, helped raised funds to refurbish the Playground on Christ Church Green in 2016 and became a School Governor at Wanstead Church School in 2020.
“Its been a privilege to live and work in Wanstead for as long as I have. It’s a great place to raise a family and has a real community spirit. If elected in May 2022 I will continue to campaign for Wanstead, listen to our residents and put their concerns first."
