The Redbridge Liberal Democrats have selected prospective parliamentary candidates for the seats of Ilford North and Ilford South in anticipation of a potential snap election. Public Affairs Executive and Liberal Democrat activist Mark Johnson will contest Ilford North while local Liberal Democrat campaigner Ashburn Holder has been selected to fight Ilford South.
Commenting, Chair of Redbridge Liberal Democrats Chris Pallet said:
"Boris Johnson's reckless approach towards Brexit means that a snap election could be called at any time and the Redbridge Liberal Democrats will field a full slate of candidates across the Borough. In Mark and Ash we have selected two exciting candidates who can stand up for the people of Ilford and I am very pleased to be able to formally announce their candidacy."
Commenting, newly selected Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Ilford North Mark Johnson said:
"I am delighted to be selected as the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Ilford North. The Borough of Redbridge voted to remain in the EU in 2016 and it is vital that the voices of those who did so from Ilford and across the Borough are heard. The Liberal Democrats want a People's Vote with an option to Stop Brexit on the ballot paper."
Remarking upon being selected, Ashburn Holder, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Ilford South stated:
"I am humbled and elated to have been chosen to represent my party as the PPC for the Ilford South constituency for a second time. We as a people deserve better, we deserve so much more than the current status quo and I will ensure that the Liberal Democrat message is implemented to the benefit of all I have been chosen to represent. We do have a voice and a choice with the Liberal Democrats"
